Almond Hot Chocolate with Jasmine Whipped Cream

Rich, velvety, and nutty with a floral jasmine cloud on top. This is not your average hot chocolate the almond extract takes it somewhere deeper and more interesting. The jasmine whipped cream is light and fragrant, and it melts into the drink as you sip. It is the kind of thing you make on a Sunday when you have nowhere to be and the kitchen smells incredible. A mug of this is basically a warm hug.

Method

  1. 1 Combine milk, heavy cream, and chocolate in a pot over medium heat.
  2. 2 Stir until melted and velvety smooth. Add almond extract.
  3. 3 Whip cream with jasmine powder until fluffy.
  4. 4 Pour into your favourite mug and top with jasmine whipped cream.

Tips & Notes

Use good quality dark chocolate for the richest flavour. The jasmine whipped cream can be made ahead and kept in the fridge for up to 2 hours. For a dairy free version, swap the heavy cream for full fat coconut cream. This drink is best served immediately while the whipped cream is still fluffy.
