Bites of the City: London Edition
Five each. We only agreed on two.

Welcome to our food-obsessed travel diary! On this trip, Dan and I decided to make things interesting by ranking the top five things we ate in every city. Spoiler: we have eerily similar taste buds, so you'll spot some serious overlap, and that's half the fun.
What we both picked
If you remember nothing else from this post, let it be these two words: burrata omelette. Okay, make it six words if you include Padella's Fettuccine with 'nduja, lemon, and mascarpone. These dishes were so good, we're still dreaming about them. Seriously, if you're planning your own trip, put these at the top of your list.
Amy's five
- 26 Grains — whipped burrata omelette.
- 26 Grains — lemon loaf with ricotta and blackberry jam. Yes, I'm putting two dishes from the same spot. No regrets. I'd order both again tomorrow if I could.
- Garlic Pig — traditional sausage roll. The only thing at Borough Market I'd actually stand in line for (and that's saying something).
- Padella — Fettuccine with 'nduja, lemon, and mascarpone. Spicy, creamy, and basically pasta perfection.
- M&S — Our Best Ever Prawn Sandwich. Yes, it's just a sandwich from a grocery store, but I loved it so much I'd happily eat it every time I land in London.
Dan's top five
- Garlic Pig — sausage roll. Dan absolutely raved about this one, putting it in his number one spot (whereas I only ranked it third). It was flaky, well seasoned, and definitely worth the long line.
- 26 Grains — whipped burrata omelette. Another dish we both loved, and honestly, I think Dan would eat this for breakfast every day if he could. There's just something about the creamy burrata with fluffy eggs that hits all the right notes.
- Padella — Fettuccine with 'nduja, lemon, and mascarpone. If you've never tried 'nduja in pasta, you're missing out.
- The Black Pig — sandwich, which Dan claims is the only other thing at Borough Market truly worth elbowing through the crowds for.
- Chill Since '93 — peach lager. Yes, Dan used one of his precious five slots on a beer. I was a little skeptical at first, but honestly, after tasting it, I totally get why. It was light and refreshing, and the peach flavour was the perfect pick-me-up after a long day of walking.
